Health insurer AIA already offers its members benefits such as weekly $5 vouchers for iTunes, Hoyts, Woolworths or Boost Juice for completing 12,500 steps a day on their Fitbit, while MLC offers members discounted premiums for staying active.

 

Last year, Medibank announced a partnership with Coles offering members 10 Flybuys points for every day they reach 10,000 steps on their Fitbit or Garmin fitness tracker. With 2000 Flybuys points working out to $10, 10 points is the equivalent of five cents.

 

Qantas, meanwhile, recently gave Frequent Flyer members the ability to earn points by cycling through the Qantas Assure Wellness Rewards program, although to earn 100 Qantas Points participants would need to ride 100km a week.
