How To Create A Successful Social Media Campaign For A Startup

How To Create A Successful Social Media Campaign For A Startup | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

Here’s a specific example of how we are leveraging our attendance at a conference to create value and interest in our current and potential clients.

Our company focuses upon Cybersecurity, and there is a conference called BlackHat that has become a mecca for hackers, hackivists, and those who are involved in the security industry. Many of our customers are under budget constraints and can’t attend conferences,

so while going to training and seminars at the conference this year our security engineers will be leveraging social media to make sure that our customers and followers can virtually gain access to the latest trends and exploits....

How Millennials Are Changing The Face Of Retail Shopping - Business 2 Community

How Millennials Are Changing The Face Of Retail Shopping - Business 2 Community | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

The all-in-one shopping experience of major in-store retailers is becoming a thing of the past, as the ease and convenience of online shopping is putting more pressure on in-store retailers than ever. It can be far less preferable to go to a brick-and-mortar store when online purchases arrive within a few days and shipping is (often) free. Additionally, the sheer quantity of online vendors has afforded Millennials (and consumers in general) more retail options than ever before, thereby allowing Millennials to be more selective with their purchases.

Millennials actually prefer to browse for products over purchasing them, and only pull the trigger after a smile of satisfaction – a retailer’s ability to “make me smile” is 33 percent more important to Millennials than Baby Boomers.Online retailers interested in appealing to Millennial consumers need to provide them with a more shareable and social shopping experience. As the pioneers of social media, it is especially important for online retailers to offer products and advice to Millennials on social networks. Millennials want to share these things with 100, 1,000, or even 10,000 friends and followers (i.e. your potential customers). This dialog can be enhanced by a well-developed mobile strategy that engages the 50 percent of Millennials that are browsing and reviewing products via their mobile devices....

Lessons from the Top Socially Devoted Brands of 2012 | Jason Cruz

Lessons from the Top Socially Devoted Brands of 2012 | Jason Cruz | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

If there is one thing I’ve noticed in social media marketing, it’s that virtually every brand, company, or organization on social is worried to death about being “engaging” (or the lack thereof). There are two issues here preventing ‘real engagement’: first, ‘engagement’ is rarely defined, and two, ‘engagement’ is a two-way street – not the one-way information stream many brands practice on social media. How did 2012 look in terms of being “socially devoted” then?

SocialBakers, the social media marketing measurement company based in Europe, has released their Socially Devoted Report for the 4th Quarter of 2012, giving a peek at changes on how brands and companies practice ‘social devotion’ (if such a word could be used)....

Infographic: Customer experience in the digital age | MarketingSherpa Blog | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

In this MarketingSherpa blog post, we analyze an infographic discussing customer service in the digital age. Learn how only 7% of marketers felt their brand experience was affected by social networks, and why that may or may not be the case....

... MarketingSherpa: What were some of the key findings?

Thom Robbins: Company websites were second (25%) behind word of mouth (28%) in weighing most heavily on impacting brand affinity. In-store experiences factored [at] 18%. Perhaps most surprising was the discovery that only 7% of respondents felt their brand experience was affected by social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, but I think this may be misleading. People may be influenced by social media a lot more than they think they are, through both direct and indirect interactions.

MS: Did any results come as a surprise?

TR: Other than the small role social media seemed to have, which I think merely shows us it’s a channel still on the rise, I was most surprised to see that 69% of those surveyed said they were willing to give up personal data in exchange for more customized service....

What if I told you that one in ten social networkers have been unfriended due to their prolific posting of political content, one in four Facebook users intentionally post status updates that are so vague that their friends are compelled to ask for more detail, and that almost a full quarter (24 percent) of young men admit to creeping on an ex’s social media profile at least once a month?....
