A Visual Guide to Telling Compelling Stories for Your Brand [Infographic]

A Visual Guide to Telling Compelling Stories for Your Brand [Infographic] | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

Great storytelling is a great differentiator.

Imagine you're walking down the snack aisle at a grocery store. How do you make sense of the hundreds of choices on either side of you? What's going to be on your mind when you decide what to buy? Perhaps you choose one product over another because that company donates a percentage of their proceeds to a great cause. Or maybe you choose it because it has more protein -- and you were just reading this article about how protein helps boost concentration, and you've been having trouble concentrating at work recently.

People like making decisions quickly, and it'll be easier for them to choose your stuff if your message resonates with them. After all, content helps people travel through the inbound marketing methodology so that, someday, they might buy something from your company and spread your company's story with others.

But, as you may have noticed, a lot of people are trying to tell stories these days. How are you going to set yours part from the pack? And where on earth do you begin creating compelling stories for your brand?...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Here's how you can use great storytelling for better social selling.

Here's how you can use storytelling for great story selling.

rodrick rajive lal's curator insight, April 17, 2015 2:26 AM

A useful article which speaks volumes about the importance of developing the story telling culture. This is not just about entrepreneurs and business heads but also about educators and facilitators. The storytelling culture can make learning more experiential, it caters to congintive learning, that is social congintive learning. While no doubt the article is for corporates and business houses, I feel it has a lot of relevance in the field of education, both at school and in college. Think for example, how many more people would like to go through the story of your research on values rather than a dry statistical analysis of how values matter!

Why Relationships Matter More Than Ever in Social Selling

Why Relationships Matter More Than Ever in Social Selling | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

Social selling is at the core of what we do as marketers but one piece of the puzzle has been missing. We've forgot about the power of relationships. In a recent study, Introhive found that 98% of sales professionals believe that relationships are the most important aspect of sales. It sounds obvious when you hear it, but it’s rarely where time and efforts are spent. Thousands of professionals around the world are wasting time cold calling new prospects while ignoring the customers they already have. As a result, these customers are finding services and products at their competitors because they invested in building and establishing that relationship.

I've seen many businesses, primarily those in advertising and SEO, lose clients because they didn’t focus on the relationship. Don Draper once said, The day you sign a client is the day you start losing one. And it’s the truth. You need to focus on building a relationship with your clients that is built on trust and a clear understanding that you’re both looking to achieve their goals together.

You can do this by spending time on Twitter finding great content to share with your clients or taking them out for dinner. You might be surprised how easy it is to improve your relationships with existing clients and potential prospects using content marketing techniques or an old fashioned phone call. It’s the little gestures that can help take your relationships to the next level and make your career and business prosper....

Telling Stories with Visual Data: A Glimpse into the Future of Narrative | Harvard Business Review

Telling Stories with Visual Data: A Glimpse into the Future of Narrative | Harvard Business Review | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

Below is a screen grab of a masterful interactive data visualization. This narrative-driven piece byPitch Interactive manages the extra-tricky task of balancing heavy subject matter with a clear story and compelling visuals. It's a glimpse into the future of data-driven storytelling. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the piece is that it wasn't commissioned by a media organization. It was built by Pitch as a way to explore and understand this complex topic. Bravo.

The full data visualization is here — it's worth watching, and scrolling over for a more in-depth view.

Very rarely do I come across a great piece of data visualisation that I feel will really add value to the insight communication process, but this is a great example of combining technology, data insights and storytelling. Others should watch and learn.

Five Elements of Inbound Marketing | ChooseWhat | World's Best Infographics | Scoop.it

Recently we came across this great infographic by AXZM detailing the five elements of inbound marketing for your business. While they seemed to have channeled Captain Planet to design and categorize this infographic; using Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and the fifth element “Aether” that binds all other forces together.

It’s a great guide for a marketer or business owner just starting out in marketing. Each element is tied to an inbound marketing tactic and is partnered with a brief description of the benefit of each tactic, popular platforms, tools used and/ or best practices to implement.

What is Inbound Marketing?

Inbound marketing is a relatively new marketing concept where marketers aim at getting discovered by potential customers who are actively looking for your product or solution. This idea of “being where your customers are looking” contrasts the traditional way of marketing through television commercials, cold calling, direct mail, trade shows, etc....
