Les opérateurs veulent mieux valoriser le mode piéton dans leur offre. L’objectif est notamment d’augmenter la distance entre deux arrêts de bus.
Cela peut sembler paradoxal, et pourtant : les entreprises de transport urbain s’efforcent aujourd’hui de réhabiliter… la marche à pied. L’Union des transports publics (UTP), l’organisation patronale du secteur, et le Groupement des autorités responsables de transport (GART), qui fédère les élus en charge de ce dossier, viennent de publier une série de recommandations dans lesquelles ils préconisent entre autres de « réintégrer le mode “marche à pied” dans l’organisation des offres de transport public, et travailler à une optimisation de cette pratique ».
