I am intrigued by the challenge of motivating individuals to take care of themselves. Healthy or not, it would clearly be more beneficial for everyone if each person could take more responsibility for his or her own health.
This really is a great focus on how mhealth can have a dramatic effect.
GSMA says mHealth can save almost €100 billion in healthcare costs and add €93 billion in GDP in the EU by 2017.
The report says mHealth can lower annual per capita EU healthcare spend for patients benefitting from mHealth solutions by 18 percent, or €537.
In addition, mHealth can reduce care costs for chronic conditions by 30 to 35 percent through improved treatment compliance and remote patient monitoring.
