Why Learning Should Be Messy

Why Learning Should Be Messy | NewSpace | Scoop.it

Can creativity be taught? Absolutely. The real question is: “How do we teach it?”

In school, instead of crossing subjects and classes, we teach them in a very rigid manner. Very rarely do you witness math and science teachers or English and history teachers collaborating with each other. Sticking in your silo, shell, and expertise is comfortable.

Well, it’s time to crack that shell.

Do You Need To Be A Jerk To Be A Successful Entrepreneur? | TechCrunch | NewSpace | Scoop.it
I recently read Ben Austen’s WIRED article about Steve Jobs, which prompted me to put together my thoughts about the tradeoffs of being a successful entrepreneur. Austen’s article draws a caricature of Jobs and puts forth a series of false choices.

Conclusion :

Politicians Who Deny Climate Change Cannot Be "Pro-Business"

Politicians Who Deny Climate Change Cannot Be "Pro-Business" | NewSpace | Scoop.it

Reducing carbon emissions from our power plants, cars, and factories cleans the air and saves a lot of money. At the macro level, the burning of coal alone costs the U.S. about $350 billion per year in health (asthma, heart attacks, and so on) and pollution costs.

At the micro level, from companies down to households, the opportunities to get lean and save money are vast.

But more strategically, tackling carbon is an immense economic opportunity. We can make business out of everything!

Take Ownership of Your Actions by Taking Responsibility

Often, we have to deal with situations for which we're not at fault.

But fault is backward-looking, and responsibility is forward-looking. Fixating on blame delays taking corrective action and inhibits learning. Focusing on responsibility offers a sense of peace.
