EU FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT TIPS

The general objective of this call for proposals is to enhance women entrepreneurship in Europe by:

• Facilitating networking and sharing good practices between actors such as intermediary stakeholders, in order to improve the support effectively delivered to women entrepreneurs and to motivate more women to start their own business or to support the development of their business across Europe.
• Entrusting stakeholders themselves with the management, update and promotion of the WEgate e-platform.

The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:

• To develop  a "European women entrepreneurship community of practice" (the Community), which will complement and build on past, current and already planned initiatives in this area
• To engage more stakeholders actively supporting women entrepreneurs - rather than women entrepreneurs themselves - with an emphasis on face-to-face exchanges and networking, in complement to online connections.

Scope:

Proposals should aim to collect best practice ICT applications and share them in a network of independent advisors. Proposals should be based on existing ICT advisory tools on biological, physical and economic processes that provide added value to current advisory techniques. Projects are furthermore expected to develop advisors' ability to support farmers on novel on-farm technologies (e.g. robots, internet of things (IoT) technologies, artificial intelligence), including the related costs and benefits and the role and position of farmers in a digital environment. Activities should ensure sufficient coverage of various cropping and livestock systems and farm sizes across all EU Member States. Activities should follow up on the key trends in digitisation of agriculture and make sure these are reflected in work on ICT advisory tools and the facilitation of farm-level uptake. Projects shall seek synergies with the national or regional EIP networks and EIP Operational Groups, and provide input to and coordinate their strategy with the SCAR-AKIS Strategic Working Group. Dedicated attention should be given to Member States where knowledge sharing attitudes and within the AKISs are still limited. Liaison should be made with concurring EU projects on agricultural digitisation.

Consortia should bring together public and private advisors that have day-to-day on-farm advisory experience, and may further include other relevant players such as farmers, farmers' organisations, etc.

Real-time yard and network management will guarantee on-time delivery and operational efficiency in particular in single wagon transport. The challenge however consists in providing a consistent set of data describing the processes and resource allocation in the yard and the surrounding railway network in real-time. An essential requirement of this call will thus be the modelling of the yard in a relevant network eco system, and an intelligent real-time simulation which generates the optimal disposition decisions and recommendations for resource utilisation in real time.
