EU FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT TIPS

In line with the objectives of the EaSI programme, the new EaSI Funded Instrument seeks to improve access to finance for micro-enterprises (including the self-employed and those that employ vulnerable people) and social enterprises in order to create jobs and support social inclusion.

The EaSI Funded Instrument provides senior and subordinated loans to eligible financial intermediaries in order to increase their capacity to provide financing to micro-enterprises and social enterprises, as well as mobilizing their own resources to grow their microfinance or social entrepreneurship portfolios.

The decision to provide EU financing will be made by the local financial institutions such as banks, venture capitalists or angel investors.

You have a right to get feedback from credit institutions on their credit decision. This can help you understand your financial position and improve your chances to obtain financing in the future. Use your right and refer to Article 431 of the EU Capital Requirements Regulation.

Scope: An efficient management of migrant integration requires clear understanding of migrants' personal and family situation, including their legal status, origin, cultural background, skills, language skills, medical records, etc. Once such information is available to public authorities, it can improve societal outcomes to the benefit of both host countries and migrants:
1. the management of migrant integration can be facilitated, e.g. by matching their skills with those needed in the Member States and Associated Countries, by designing tailored training programmes or by creating specific decision support tools;
2. better and customised services can be delivered to match the needs of migrants;
3. more efficient integration strategies can be defined and implemented at local level for a sustainable inclusion of migrants and a fact-based public perception of migration.
Proposals should address at least one of the 3 points above, which should be piloted against a set of clearly defined goals.

Scope:

Proposals should examine the processes and content of the emerging international protection system, e.g. following the United Nations commitment for the adoption of a global asylum compact as well as its implementation in comparative perspective, with special focus on the EU’s role and engagement. They should examine how sharing responsibilities, transferring skills and capabilities, can be organised as well as the compatibility of the emerging global asylum regime with international law, including international conventions on refugees and human rights. The EU arrangements with refugees' origin and transit countries should be assessed. Proposals should advise on the future development of asylum policies and their implementation both globally and within the EU, also addressing issues around both gender issues and equality.

Scope:

The traditional city innovation ecosystem is opening up to new models of innovation engaging citizens. An increasing number of cities are acting as test-beds for innovation and run citizens-driven initiatives to find solutions for their relevant societal challenges.

The public domain is particularly challenged with finding effective ways to ensure the mainstreaming of these practices into the ordinary urban development process. Successful practices are particularly crucial to enhance the city's capacity to attract new resources, funds and talents, and become role models for other cities.

The Slovenian Research Agency invites national research institutions that had participated in the MSCA-IF-2016 call evaluation procedure and acquired a score of 85% or more to apply for co-funding of their projects.

The Slovenian call foresees a co-financing of 6 research projects, starting from 1 January 2018. Using its own funds, the Agency will support the leading researchers of the selected projects for a period of two years.

Partnering Grants aim to promote capacity building at EU level through joint initiatives between two or preferably more organisations in different Member States, Norway and Iceland, enabling knowledge and expertise transfer and/or exchange within the fields of EFSA`s remit. 
 
For the purpose of this grant, Capacity Building is defined as an initiative that leads to the strengthening of food safety risk assessment capacity of national organisations through the transfer or exchange of knowledge, skills, competencies and abilities between partner organisations.

General objectives

Projects submitted under this call under both lots should aim at:

1.

Disseminating and/or scaling up good practices on inclusive learning initiated in particular at local level. In the context of the present call, scaling up means replicating good practice on a wider scale/transferring it to a different context or implementing it at a higher/systemic level;

or

2.

Developing and implementing innovative methods and practices to foster inclusive education and/or youth environments in specific contexts.

Each application must address one general objective and one of the specific objectives, which are listed separately for Lot 1 and for Lot 2. Both the general and specific objectives of the call are exhaustive: proposals that do not address them will not be considered.

 Budget

The total budget available for the co-financing of projects under the present call is EUR 10 000 000 allocated as follows:

Lot 1— Education and training EUR 8 000 000

Lot 2— Youth EUR 2 000 000

The financial contribution from the EU cannot exceed 80 % of the total eligible project costs.

The maximum grant per project will be EUR 500 000.

The Agency reserves the right not to distribute all the funds available for this call.

Action grants to explore the role of internet tools in stimulating democratic participation and to investigate how digital tools can contribute to the stronger and longer-term engagement of citizens, under a Pilot Project E-voting: making the best use of modern technologies for more active and democratic voting procedures

The activities funded under this pilot project's call for action grants aiming to:

• explore the role of internet services and applications in stimulating democratic participation and to investigate how digital tools can contribute to the stronger and longer-term democratic engagement of citizens;
• elicit a broad range of proposals especially but not exclusively targeting young people and mobile EU citizens.

WHICH ACTIVITIES ARE SUPPORTED UNDER THIS ACTION?

Boosting innovation in higher education, business and in the broader socio-economic environment:
- jointly developing and implementing new learning and teaching methods (like new multidisciplinary curricula, learner-centred and real problem-based teaching and learning);
o organising continuing educational programmes and activities with and within companies;

-  jointly developing solutions for challenging issues, product and process innovation (students, professors and practitioners together).
Developing entrepreneurial mind-set and skills:
-  creating schemes of transversal skills learning and application throughout higher education programmes developed in cooperation with enterprises aiming at strengthening employability, creativity and new professional paths;
- introducing entrepreneurship education in any discipline to provide students, researchers, staff and educators with the knowledge, skills and motivation to engage in entrepreneurial activities in a variety of settings;

- opening up new learning opportunities through the practical application of entrepreneurial skills, which can involve and/or lead to the commercialisation of new services, products and prototypes, to the creation of start-ups and spin-offs.

Stimulating the flow and exchange of knowledge between higher education and enterprises:
- study field related activities in enterprises which are fully embedded in the curriculum, recognised and credited;
-  set-ups to trial and test innovative measures;
-  exchanges of students, researchers, teaching staff and company staff for a limited period;
-  involvement of company staff into teaching and research.

Scope

Proposals should take stock of the long-term effects of migration at EU aggregate and cross-national level on economic growth and productivity, employment levels and wages, entrepreneurship, and fiscal and welfare impacts. They should analyse policies related to the integration of migrants, including refugees. Particular attention should be paid to gender and vulnerable groups such as unaccompanied children and stateless persons.

The Seal of Excellence is the high-quality label awarded to projects submitted to Horizon 2020 which were deemed to deserve funding but did not receive it due to budget limits. It recognises the value of the proposal and supports the search for alternative funding.

The Seal of Excellence Certificate rewards unfunded H2020 proposals which were above this quality threshold with a high-quality label and the Seal of Excellence holder can then approach alternative regional, national, private or public funding sources. In addition, it helps interested funding bodies willing to invest in promising proposals (including national & regional authorities through European Structural & Investment Funds) to identify these projects more easily.

Objectives of the call

As part of the project “Smart Factories in new EU Member States” the European Commission is looking for organisations to take on the role of a “Digital Innovation Hub” (DIH) in EU13 Member States . At least 30 DIHs from 8 countries will be selected to take part in a training programme, which will be managed by PwC and Oxford University Innovation (Oxentia).   

The Interreg Europe programme is divided into four priority axes related to the Europe 2020 strategy.
