We are pleased to announce the fi-compass event 'The role of social financial intermediaries in deploying financial instruments under the European Social Fund in the 2014-2020 programming period', 17 October 2017 in Brussels. This event is organised by the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB).

On the morning of 28th June 2016, the European Commission will host an Open Info Day dedicated to Societal Challenge 2 of the Horizon 2020 programme, 'Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy.' Offered free of charge, the purpose of the brokerage event is to help you find the right partners for the upcoming 2017 calls. The official opening of 2017 calls is planned for October 2016, and the first deadlines will be in February of 2017.

In order to support applicants in writing high quality project proposals, the programme will offer dedicated events on the national and transnational level.

The second call for project proposals of Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE is going to open in late April 2016.

The lead applicant training will take place in Hotel Westin, Zagreb (Croatia) from 10-11 May 2016, followed by a limited number of individual consultations on 12 May 2016.
Slots for individual consultations on 12 May 2016 will be offered on a first-come-first serve basis. Registration for these will open with the event registration in late April. In addition to the consultations offered on the day after the lead applicant training, the joint secretariat will be available for consultations either personally in Vienna or via phone/skype after an online registration.

The main focus of this event will be on the role of social financial intermediaries (SFI) in the set-up of national or regional level financial instruments products with the European Social Fund (ESF) such as loans, guarantees, equity or quasi-equity. The opportunities of such instruments, as well as SFI’s most common practical challenges in implementing them will be in the spotlight of this event.
Deadline for registration is Tuesday, 10 October 2017.
